The Tanzania Chamber of Minerals and Energy was established in 1994 and represents the private participants in the Tanzanian mineral sector. Our membership, now close to 60, includes a broad spectrum of key players in the mining industry including small-scale miners, individuals, service providers, small, medium to the largest international mining companies in the world who have identified Tanzania as a worthwhile place to invest their money. These companies are carrying out exploration and mineral production activities.

The Chamber, as the voice for the industry continues to play a pivotal role within the sector as a mediator between the mining investment community and key stakeholders, most notably the Government of Tanzania and the public.
